Amici: Our Room For 3 To 4 Year Olds In Horsley Park
Amici is where friendships take off. This room at Little Blossoms Academy in Horsley Park is built for 3 to 4 year olds discovering imagination, cooperation and early literacy and numeracy through play. Your child learns to share ideas, solve small problems and dream up big worlds, all alongside their first real friends.
The Year Friendships And Big Imaginations Take Off
In Amici, learning becomes social. Children play together, negotiate, pretend and create, and educators weave early literacy and numeracy naturally into that play. It never feels like a lesson because it never is one — it is a story, a building project, a shared pretend world.
What Makes Amici Different
Real Friendship Skills
Sharing, taking turns and reading how a friend feels are the big lessons of this age. Educators guide your child gently through the ups and downs of early friendships so they arrive at school knowing how to connect.
Pre-Literacy And Numeracy Through Play
Your child counts during cooking, spots letters in their name and tells stories at group time. We build the foundations of reading and maths through real moments — without worksheets or pressure.
Imagination And Creative Corners
Dress-ups, small worlds, painting and building let your child express ideas in what Reggio calls a hundred languages. Creative play here is a serious form of thinking — and it is central to our approach.
Confidence To Have A Go
We encourage your child to try, make mistakes and try again. That growing willingness to have a go — to attempt something new without fear of being wrong — is what carries them into school ready.

Questions About Our Amici Room
What age is the Amici room for?
Amici is our room for children aged 3 to 4 years at Little Blossoms Academy in Horsley Park. It focuses on friendships, imagination and early literacy and numeracy through play. Children typically move up from our Bambini toddler room into Amici around their third birthday.
Do 3 year olds do formal learning here?
No. We build pre-literacy and numeracy through everyday play, cooking, storytelling and games rather than worksheets. This gives your child strong foundations while keeping learning joyful — just as our Reggio-inspired approach intends.
How do you help my child make friends?
Educators actively guide sharing, turn-taking and understanding feelings, and set up play that encourages children to cooperate. This helps your child build genuine friendship skills at their own pace. When they are ready, they move on to our Ragazzi school readiness room for 4 to 5 year olds.
